Dave & Laura Seltzer

We are proud to endorse Karen Alexander for Corona City Council. She is a long-time civic servant and devoted volunteer. She is intelligent, capable, and truly cares about the betterment of our community. Her election to the City Council will allow her to bring an even greater positive impact to Corona!

Don Kindred, Executive Director, Corona Symphony Orchestra

I have had the opportunity to work with Karen on many projects over the years and have found her to be very solution oriented. Karen has been invested in our City with her career in Corona Police Department, 7 years on the Planning and Housing Commission, her passion for homeless solutions, support of our Veterans and sees the value in supporting our cultural arts. Karen is always looking out for the best interest of Corona. I fully support Karen’s candidacy for City Council.

We encourage you to join us in support of Karen Alexander for District 4 City Councilmember.

As a longtime Corona resident and city employee in many capacities, Karen has a deep understanding of Corona’s strengths and challenges.  Her boundless energy has been evident most recently in her work on the city’s Planning and Housing Commission, with her unhoused advocacy program “Make It Cozy”, Blue Star Moms, and many other groups and causes.

One recent and contentious issue which Karen was instrumental in resolving is the Green River Ranch Project, where she helped create a unique collaboration between homeowners and the property developer to come up with the most advantageous use the old “horse ranch”, leading to modification of the developer’s initial proposal to secure for Corona a pleasing city gateway project with enhanced landscaping standards and additional dedicated open space and trails.  As directly-affected homeowners, we’re very pleased with the outcome. This was just one example of Karen’s proven record of collaborative problem solving and commitment to building consensus for the good of the city and its residents.

Years ago, we inquired of Karen if she’d ever consider running for City Council representing District 4.  We’re pleased to see that she is, as our city will be in good hands with her leadership.  We fully support Karen Alexander for Corona City Council representing District 4.

Matt Olsen, Parks Commissioner

It is my pleasure to endorse Karen Alexander for Corona City Council, representing District 4. Over the past seven years that I’ve known Karen, I’ve seen her devote countless hours to ensuring that Corona residents receive the best possible outcomes from new developments.

I had the privilege of serving alongside her on two citizen ad-hoc committees, where her sharp eye and thorough research led to significant project improvements that benefited the community. As a Planning and Housing Commissioner, Karen is consistently well-informed on every item that comes before her. Notably, she goes beyond the dais, taking time to knock on doors and listen to the neighbors of proposed developments.

Aroma of dedication, caring, helping and sense of community are always in any room when Karen Alexander is present. She is dedicated to the city of corona needs in many aspects including sitting on the Planning and commission council and contributing many free hours to beautify our surroundings. She is so caring about the needy welfare of the homeless population she helped move them from the streets to a permanent housing. When moving families from streets to housing units they need furniture, so Karen helped secure all that and distributed to them all is needed. She is always present at city function and always involved at city council meetings.

As a member of the community for the last 23 years and an operator of many businesses in the city, I can freely attest to Karen Alexander's character, moral and caring nature that she is well qualified to hold a position where the public trust is needed the most.

Milton Economy, Owner of Copperlocks Grill

When you know you are going to have to go in front of complete strangers and present a project to them that you have passionately worked on for a very long time you do not know what to expect.  You try to anticipate what they might ask and prepare as much as possible.  I remember that initially my nerves got the best of me and while I was attempting to do my best fielding Planning Commissions questions I was fumbling over words.  All of the sudden a lady with a soft voice and huge smile puts me at ease and begins asking me questions.  She immediately made me feel like I mattered and was interested in what I had to say.  That is Karen Alexander!

From my first interaction with her I could tell how much she cared about my project.  After the meeting finished she greeted my family and I in the lobby and introduced herself telling us how she was looking forward to our project.  Her sincerity was clear as day, and her demeanor and mannerism let you know she was not new at this.  Her expertise is invaluable, and the City of Corona would be a better place with Karen as a council member.  She will bring a combination of professionalism, reliability, and creativity to the position.

Karen Alexander will always have my support, and I feel better as a resident of Corona for close to 20 years knowing she would have input and say in the decisions of this beautiful town.

Becky Gunnoe, Executive Director of Trauma Intervention Program of Corona, Inc.

I have known Karen Alexander for more than 10 years. I first met her when we served on the Corona Police Community Partnership board together. There is no doubt she has excellent leadership skills. Over the years I’ve watched and learned from the way she approaches things. She leads by example. Karen cares about the City of Corona and Karen cares about the citizens in our community.  She sees a need and networks to meet that need. A perfect example is the non-profit she launched – Make It Cozy.  As a City Planning Commissioner, she always does her homework. She’s prepared. She walks the projects, she studies the applications and recommendations, and she asks the hard questions.

Corona needs Karen to sit on our City Council because Karen cares!

Dale Ploung, Coronita resident, community advocate for Oxbow project

I am pleased to endorse Karen Alexander for Corona City Council. For over nine years, Karen has worked closely with me to address the unique challenges of Coronita and western Corona. She is not only attentive but deeply involved in every issue that matters to our area, whether it’s neighborhood development, local services, infrastructure, or quality of life concerns.

Karen brings a rare depth of knowledge as she doesn’t just skim the surface but digs deep into the details, ensuring thoughtful and effective outcomes for our community. Her experience serving on the planning commission gives her firsthand understanding of Corona’s priorities and the skills needed to plan wisely for Corona’s future.

Her consistent supporting, collaborative spirit, and unwavering dedication. Have truly made a difference. I wholeheartedly encourage the community to support Karen Alexander, a proven and passionate advocate for Corona. I personally believe she’s one of the hardest-working individuals, fighting for Corona.

Tom & MaryAnn Sherman

Karen Alexander has demonstrated her love of our Corona community for decades and volunteers each week to serve those in need; Tom and I wholeheartedly endorse her as a District 4 candidate for Corona City Council.

We’ve witnessed firsthand her “boots on the ground” energy to provide food for the needy as she assists with my food distribution program.  She also is the founder / manager of the MIC - Make It Cozy program which is part of the City’s Homeless Solutions program- coordinating community donations & providing household goods to those City Net / Mercy House clients moving into new living spaces.

Karen & I have worked for years - along with many other volunteers, to gather donations and mail out care packages to our deployed military troops and assist at the annual bbq for 100+ of our local veterans.  Our hearts are especially dedicated to our veterans as both our sons have military service.

Karen has been involved with a quarterly Ladies’ group - WIN Women’s Interfaith Network- who gather quarterly for service “Love” projects supporting local cancer patients and homeless solutions workers and guests, etc.

Long story, short, we will be well served by Karen’s 2026 election to city council and she has our full support and endorsement.  Her longstanding community service is proof that she loves Corona and wants to serve at a higher level.

Michele Wentworth, Former Parks Commissioner

I am proud to endorse Karen Alexander for Corona City Council. I have known Karen for 15 years through her efforts to improve our city, and I continue to be impressed by her dedication and integrity. During the 91/15 Freeway project, we worked with other residents to address traffic congestion and improve conditions for our community. Karen brought that same awareness of traffic issues into her thoughtful service on the Planning Commission, where she carefully reviews projects to consider their impact on residents.

During my 8 years serving on the City of Corona Parks and Recreation Commission, I observed firsthand how Karen consistently advocates for improved park and trail infrastructure. She has also dedicated her time to city park and trail cleanups and beautification efforts. She follows her heart in her passion project, working tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for residents facing housing insecurity. She has gone above and beyond by volunteering her time to help our city establish and open the Harrison Hope Center. She continues her foundational work to provide essential supplies and furnishings for newly housed residents through Make It Cozy.

Karen conducts herself with honesty and fairness. On the Planning Commission, she has proven to be thoughtful, willing to consider all sides of an issue, and dedicated to actively engaging with residents affected by proposed projects.

Corona will be lucky to have Karen Alexander on the City Council, and I fully support her.

Pastor Jon and Rachael Castillo, Main Street Church

Karen has dedicated her life to making a positive impact in the City of Corona. She has helped so many with her countless volunteer hours. Karen has proven she is the kind of individual who is committed to the making Corona a great city for everyone. I have partnered with Karen on many occasions in collecting resources for families and individuals in time of need. Corona will be blessed to have Karen Alexander as  City Council member.
