Karen Alexander has called Corona home for more than 42 years. Along with her husband of 44 years, Tom, Karen raised three sons here – all of whom graduated from Corona High School. While she has witnessed significant change in the Circle City over the years, one constant throughout that time has been Karen’s dedicated service to her community.
For more than three decades, Karen helped keep our families safe through her work in law enforcement. Right here in Corona, Karen worked as a crime analyst, emergency dispatcher, and other roles for nearly 30 years. She also worked for the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office as a crime analyst.
Today, Karen is active member of the community who is currently serving on the Corona Planning Commission. She also represented the city by serving six years on the policy making board of Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control.
Always finding ways to give back to her city, Karen is involved with many community-based organizations, including the Amber Waves of Grain Veteran Fundraiser, Women’s Interfaith Network, 100 Women Who Care (Corona/Riverside), Blue Star Mothers CA30, and Make It Cozy – which she founded five years ago.
In recognition of her invaluable contributions, Karen has earned a number of awards, including the Corona Police Department Distinguished Service Award, Soroptimist - Women in Government Recognition, Western Riverside Council of Governments Outstanding Community Service Award, United Way Exemplary Community Service Award, Riverside County District 2 Volunteer of the Year Award, and the Congregation Beth Shalom Shomer Tzedek Award.
